Biography Of Copernicus   Nicolaus Copernicus (1473 – 1543) – Polish / Prussian astronomer and mathematician. Copernicus designed a model that placed the sun in the center of the universe (heliocentrism), challenging the then-prevailing orthodoxy which held the earth at its center.
